Arcadia-Spectrum consortium today announced signing of contract with Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO) for Basic and detailed engineering for New Pharmaceutical Production Plant.

The Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO) is a Thai governmental agency responsible for the oversight and manufacture of pharmaceutical and medical products in Thailand. The Pharmaceutical Production Plant of the Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO) of Thailand was established in 1940 at the location on Rama VI, Ratchathewi District in central Bangkok with the area of 17.40 acres. Since then, the plant has become the cornerstone and the indispensable instrument of GPO to achieve its mission of increasing access to quality medicines at affordable prices for the Thai people.

The Board of GPO unanimously endorsed the plan to construct a second pharmaceutical production plant at the site in Thanyaburi, Pathumthani province on the area of 39.54 acres. The new Pharmaceutical Production Plant is expected to be designed and built to the international standards, complying with PIC/S GMP in addition to meeting the pharmaceutical needs of the country for the next decades.

GPO signed contract with Arcadia Spectrum Consortium on 18th May 2016 for “Basic & Detailed Design” of the second Pharmaceutical Production Plant which consists of Oral Solid Dosage form plant, Oral Liquid Dosage form plant, Cream, Ointment and Injectable form plant and Raw material and packaging material warehouse and relevant support systems that comply with PIC/S GMP.
